| Can I use an exhaust pipe or exhaust
tubing bender to bend a motorcycle or racing car frame or roll-cage?
No, it is not recommended. Rotary-Draw Benders are recommended
over a COMPRESSION BENDER. COMPRESSION BENDERS almost always LEAVE
AN IMPRESSION in the pipe at the point of bend. A ROTARY DRAW
BENDER pulls the material around a radius die and STRETCHES as
it pulls PREVENTING the PIPE or TUBING from COLLAPSING and maintains
a smooth appearance as well as the pipe or tubing’s structural
integrity.
What type of bender do I need if I want to bend
Chopper Frames?
RMD Rotary Draw Benders with the appropriate die package will
usually do the trick, call 1-800-258-5345 for more information.
Can I bend square tubing with
an exhaust tubing or exhaust pipe bender?
Yes, we have many sizes and radius diameters available call 1-800-258-5345
for more information.
Can I bend tubing for Car Ports, Fences or Horse
Corrals with an exhaust tubing bender?
Yes, In fact, we have customers using our benders for these applications
as we speak! Call us, you'll be surprised how affordable our benders
with auto retract and auto depth of bend can help your production
facility.
Do the digital pipe benders bend the
pipe for me?
No, digital pipe benders usually store up to 99 different sequences
of approximately 4-8 bends per program – these models still
require the operator to manually position the pipe in between
bends.
Can I use a manual pipe bender to bend
exhaust pipe?
No, not recommended. Manual benders are usually designed for
thick walled schedule 40 pipe and will ultimately COLLAPSE the
tubing at the would be point of bend.
What is the best type of bender
control: push button, foot pedal or knee operated?
The best selling design would be the knee-operated.
Is the High Speed option a factor
when considering a bender?
Some high volume exhaust shops and production facilities may
want to operate at high speed when parts per hour is a major factor.
High speed cuts bend time by 30-50%.
Which tooling package do I need for my exhaust
tubing or exhaust pipe bender?
Contact us at 1-800-258-5345 to discuss options and packages.
What is the difference between a manual
bender and an automatic bender?
A manual bender is a bender that requires the operator to apply
pressure to a switch to engage and disengage the hydraulic control
on a bender for extending and retracting the hydraulic ram/ radius
bending die. An automatic bender allows the operator to set a
desired depth of bend by using a selector followed by the operator
engaging a switch. Once the switch has been activated, the bender
will extend and retract automatically completing the bend and
returning to the start position.
Do you offer training?
Yes, video training tapes are available for our exhaust tubing
benders and pipe benders.
Is motor horsepower a factor?
All of our offered benders are engineered to handle the specifications
set forth by the respected factories. Horsepower and capability
usually go hand and hand; focus on the job you need to get done
and let the engineers worry about the horsepower.
What do I need to know about expanding pipe or
tube end finishing?
All of our exhaust tubing bender and exhaust pipe benders are
equipped with expanders and swagers for end finishing and sizing.
Different tooling packages are available for different situations,
ask us for a recommendation.
